For years I've run both software with no conflict or issue. Both paid versions for a couple years. Malwarebytes isn't just a scanner anymore, and as of late they are in conflict. AVG even kindly offered to remove Malwarebytes.

If you had to pick one...

Malwarebytes is not a fully fledged antivirus program.
    It's a combo of 3 of the company's products - Anti-Malware, Anti-Exploit and Anti-Ransomware.

I quit using avg about 4 yrs ago when they switched to the tile interface and seemed to start hogging bandwidth. I may be wrong but I haven't had any trouble since getting rid of it. Is a shame cuz I really liked it till then.

"Malwarebytes for Windows is a next-generation antivirus replacement. The first of its kind for home users, Malwarebytes for Windows employs four independent technology modules—anti-malware, anti-ransomware, anti-exploit, and malicious website protection—to block and remove both known and unknown threats."

AVG is nothing but bloatware and is slow to install.Just a fare warning.

Most Anti virus are junk any more. And take more and more resources every year.

    I agree with Tim.

I dumped AVG years ago. It is now owned by the company that owns Avast.

Malwarebytes for me. I also depend on the FREE av, MS Security Essentials (XP and 7). It was renamed Windows Defender in Windows 8 and 10. (not to be confused with the old and worthless windows defender from years earlier)

Currently running: Malwarebytes Free edition coupled with Windows defender which compensates with real time protection in the cloud..... on Win 10 Pro/Server 2016 ;)

I am currently using MBAM v3 Paid and Avast Premier Paid too and they don't conflict. Try Avast Free with MBAM to see if they work
