avg8wd

Today, on my client's computer, I got about 20 events in the Vista Event Log saying 'A timeout (300000m/s) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the avg8wd service'.
What does this message mean?
It is AVG Free 8.5
Windows Vista Premium SP1 32-bit
Spybot S and D 1.6.2
ZA 8.5

 

Windows is updating fine, and there have been no other spyware, malware problems

 

AVG could simply have a problem at their end?

However your should run SAS & MBAM as extra precaution. Your software, AVG and Spybot Search & Destroy, are not exactly top achievers anymore. But these 2 are highly recommended in this forum:

I ran MBAM but it was clean.
SpyBot was clean, but I can't run SuperAntiSpyware yet as the client needed his machine

 

OK. It could also be a ZoneAlarm issue but I guess you've already checked that...
