Recently i have started to have a BSOD problem when i am not using the computer for a bit...I believe the smallest amount of time was an hour. When running Windbg and following the guide to find out what exactly is causing the problem it said that avgtdix.sys seemed to be the reason. I do have AVG Anti-Virus installed on this computer and hoping that an uninstall-reinstall would fix it, i did just that. I had to leave the computer for an hour today and once i came back and i turned it on i saw the BSOD yet again. After that i set the screen saver for windows to none since maybe that's may be what's going on considering it happens everytime im not on the computer.

I wasn't sure if you would like for me to post the results from Windbg so that's why i haven't attached that.

I am on a Dell XP machine and am running AVG Anti-Virus obviously. I would prefer not using another program considering i am using the bought AVG and not the free version.

    Hi

Is this AVG Antivirus or AVG Internet Security?
Possible is that you have another security application causing a conflict with is application so disable any others and test.

What other security applications do you have installed?

What Windows version and is it fully upto date with hotfixes and Service Pack?

Could you post the BSOD code in full as that can narrow the issue down?

If you boot into Safe Mode does this happen also?

You could attach the log from Windbg and intructions on how to attach a text or other file are here HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post

Turning the screen saver off did not help, not really surprising but it was worth a shot. Had another BSOD when i woke up to get back on the computer.

    AVG Anti-Virus

I don't really have any other monitoring security applications installed. The only security applications related are scanners which are: Spybot and RemoveIT Pro.

Assuming this is want your asking for as far as windows version, I am using Windows XP SP3. No it isn't fully up to date and I have updated it just now.

I recorded what the code said on one of the BSOD and heres what i wrote down: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 0x00D0000A (0x0D0000E8, 0x0D000002, 0x0D00C001, 0x806E6A15), not sure if this is what you wanted or if you wanted the dump file.

I haven't tried booting into Safe Mode and leaving it alone. Since I can only test to see if the BSOD is occurring by not using it I'll have to wait to test this by putting it in Safe Mode before i go to bed.

I ran the !analyze -v command to get a more detailed analysis of the dump file so attached is the less detailed report and more detailed report in one text file from WinDbg (the newest dump file report is attached which happened this morning).

    Hi

Unhook PC from internet and uninstall your AVG and reboot, has error gone as the erroring file is from AVG.

Is AVG the latest version 8?

What previous Antivirus application did you have if any before AVG? it may not be fully uninstalled and depending on which one many have extra uninstaller tools to mop up what the uninstaller doesnt get to.

Problem hasn't happened for maybe a week or two now, but just now it happened again. Same report in the WinDbg.

I could unhook the PC from the internet and uninstall my AVG and reboot, but considering this problem seems so unpredictable as to how often it will occur I don't see that that would help considering the only variable that seems to be a constant is when it happens and not how often. If you still want me to try that I will so please let me know.

AVG is the latest version 8.

I had no previous Antivirus application before AVG.

I could also try and see if when AVG uninstalls if it removes the problematic file if you like just to verify that that was at least uninstalled.

My internet has also been fluctuating oddly for about a month or so now at random times (will completely cut off on speed and then eventually go back to normal and sometimes do it again maybe 5 minutes later and then maybe the next day or a couple of days do the same thing). Not sure if this is related or not to this problem, but i've already tried replacing the modem and it still does it, and it may have something to do with an old wire im using or the other possibilites are that it's the Network Card or in relation to this problem with AVG.

Appears the internet problem had to do with my Ethernet Card and have now replaced it. I haven't had any internet problems to speak of now, and hopefully the Ethernet Card that was being used was what was causing a conflict with AVG and not something else. I guess well see.

Now it appears that what it was was a trojan horse virus. I went through the cleaning procedure as I always do when it appears that I may have a virus =o). The new Ethernet Card worked fine at first but as time went on the problem came back. I believe the trojan to be removed now and so far for the 12 hours it has been removed I haven't noticed any further problems with my connection. If I do encounter further problems I will, of course, post my scan logs in the Malware Removal forum.

I've been dealing with the same issue for a few weeks now I get the same BSOD and Identical stop message as yours 0x0000000a (0x000000E8, 0x00000002, 0x0000001, 0x806E6A16) I'm wondering are you leaving your comp running bescause you are logged onto a P2P and are downloading? I find for myself its directly related to Ares and whenever I have it running. Are you using any type of P2P program?

I ahd the same problem and as stated in Twistids other thread about this, it seems to be a driver conflict with AVG and something else. My BSOD only came on when I used firefox when playing a game in Windowed mode. I have since removed AVG compeltely (registry entries the lot) and had no further issues for quite some time now.

grisoft have been aware of compatability issues with AVG for a while
