Recently i have started to have a BSOD problem when i am and even while im using my computer. When running Windbg and following the guide to find out what exactly is causing the problem it said that avgtdix.sys seemed to be the reason. I do have AVG Anti-Virus (latest version 8) installed on this computer and hoping that an uninstall-reinstall would fix it, i've done that but still have BSoDs.

I wasn't sure if you would like for me to post the results from Windbg so that's why i haven't attached that.

I don't really have any other monitoring security applications installed. The only security applications related are scanners which are: Spybot and RemoveIT Pro.

I recorded what the code said on one of the BSOD and heres what i wrote down: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 0x00D0000A (0x0D0000E8, 0x0D000002, 0x0D00C001, 0x806E6A15).

I hope this is solvable without having to format the hard drive and installing Windows again or doing a reinstall. Please help. Thank you.

I am on a Dell XP machine and am running AVG Anti-Virus obviously. I would prefer not using another program considering i am using the bought AVG and not the free version.

I have had the exact same problem, well except my BSOD seemed to be when I'm using the pc but at random times.

I thought I had fixed this error by a few methods i found online (uninstalling gfx drivers, registryt fixes etc) and it seemed to be ok for a day then came back.

I used the windeg tools to open the minidump file and at the end it said the problem was with avgtdix.sys

Sorry to post in your thread, but I found this on Google as they only thing even close to my issue and joined up hoping to ask how you fixed it. I couldnt PM as I'm a new member

I'm at my wits end and really would appreciate some help as I'm not that good with computers as it is

@ Twistid Could it be a conflict?
    http://www.avg.com/faq.num-1214?srch=conflicts#faq_1214

    Do you have?

    Dell Network Assistant
    Problem:
    Computer crashes repeatedly (BSOD).
    Solution:
The problem occurs only with an obsolete version of the application. Possible solution to update the application to the latest version, which can be downloaded here.

@ BlueCroup, check the conflict list in link above, see if applies to you, then post your problem and system info in a new thread. Please post Operating System, Make of PC, other anti programs you use or used prior. *Twistid didn't fix it, he just started this thread today :)

I did a search on my C: drive for that and it didn't come up with any results and i don't see it under Dell in the Programs. The only thing under the Dell Accessories folder in the Start Programs is Express Service Code.

Twistid, I assume the alpha-numeric error you get is 0x0000000A rather than 0x00D0000A ?
Also, if I understand you are running the paid version of AVG 8.
This is not simply an antivirus, it is also antimalware. Do you have spybot running in real time with AVG and is teatimer running?

It could have been. The error code wasn't very legible. The 0's and D's looked the same and i believe something else but I do not recall.

I am running the paid version of AVG 8. I do not have Spybot running in real time with AVG and teatimer is not running.

There wasn't anything on the paid AVG site for avgtdix.sys but I found this:
You've obviously done that and it did not work.

I don't have an option like that in my AVG about Firewall and I looked and couldn't find anything about File or Printer Sharing.

There is one interesting pattern i just noticed today. I DJ through streaming internet and i figured out eventually that my router is messing up the sends sometimes cause i kept getting disconnected and reconnected during one of my sets to the stream. So now, when I'm DJing I unplug from the router, take off the settings I have set for this computer in the Network Settings under TCP/IP back to Automatic so i can connect to the modem instead of requiring a certain IP for my computer from the router. Also, in this process I have to have Firefox and my streaming program called SAM Broadcaster open after i change the connections to the modem. The first time I did this, right before I was about to come on after the other DJ had counted down for me so I could take over the stream the BSoD shows up. Then I just did the same thing today and it happened AGAIN (after a restart it doesn't happen again)! This leads me to 3 possible theories at least from my standpoint. Something to do with me switching to the modem connection causes it (I would guess my Network Card), SAM Broadcaster is causing a problem, or Firefox is causing the problem.

I noticed with my problem I was mainly getting BSOD when I was playing FM2009 in windowed mode, then opening a firefox window, shortly after I would usually get the BSOD

I have uninstalled AVG completely (using youruninstaller as it clears reg etc) & switched to Avast and havent had a problem yet, so hopefully its now fixed
    Hope you get yours sorted

Are there no other options? I would have done what was said by Plodr but the Firewall Settings option is non-existent in my AVG and it sounds to me like that is either actually talking about AVG Internet Security and not the AVG Anti-Virus which i have. That or it's referring to an older version of AVG. That option is not available in my AVG. Any help would be appreciated.

I only had AVG 8 anti virus, Since I unistalled and moved to another AV its been absolutely fine.

You could try uninstalling AVG, and then spybot etc.

Then reinstall AVG if you really want to use it,a nd replace your spyware scanner with the one from Malwarebytes (its the best around anyway SB has gone terrible), then your covered and wont have any other realtime conflicts

I do have Spybot but it doesn't appear anything is running from Spybot unless i actually start the program so it doesn't appear that would really do anything. I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling AVG and it hasn't worked. I can't use another anti-virus because I'm actually paying for AVG so not using it is not an option.

the new version of spybot does run some things in the background, and the new drivers may be the conflict

Have you removed AVG totally? (not just the basic remove program, try youruninstaller). After spybot changed I stopped using it anyway, but hadnt uninstalled it until this week. I'd had a few problems with AVG anyway so didnt mind changing.

Email Grisoft about your issue and tell them you cant use the product, you may get a refund or a fix. Its obvious that that is the problem

I've just started up Spybot and no BSoD. You may have had TeaTimer set to enabled, i don't know. Either way I've had Spybot on this computer since I first started it up for the first time and downloaded it. If Spybot were a problem then I'm sure the BSoDs would've shown up much earlier. I may have to contact AVG about it and ask for their help, but I feel it is much better to try here first.

Spybot has only recently changed, its now a pretty rubbish piece of kit tbh, its probably not teatimer.exe itself but the drivers it installs that cause the conflict. have you removed its entry from your msconfig startup/services tabs?

Tbh you have a few ways of trying to fix this, but as its AVG thats showing as the issue your reluctance to try not using it if even for a short time to prove it, is suprising. as I said I ha dthe same problem and sicne removing AVG have had no troubles at all, I was also a paying customer of GRisoft and have contacte dthem about a refund as they aware that AVG isnt compatable with everything
