avi and bin problems

I downloaded a movie in .avi format and I'm not able to play it in compatible players. It only plays audio but no video. What do I do... most of the dvd rips in torrents are in avi format.. so i'm really confused... do avi format movies really open and this is just a case of bad file??? also, how do i play a file if its in .bin format. I cant find a compatible player

 

1.Download K-Lite codec pack full(recommend),this will let you play all file formats.
2.Firstly,you must burn the bin. file on DVD using :Alcohol,Daemon,etc.or create virtual DVD with one this software,And watch the movie without burn to DVD.

 

As mentioned above, you need a good codec pack. Many are available for free in the MajorGeeks Multimedia download section. A good (great!) media player is GOM Player. If a file requires a codec you don't have installed, GOM Player will locate, download, and install the codec for you. Very handy. As for .bin files... there is supposed to be a .cue file that accompanies the .bin. Attached below is a how-to burn guide for .bin/.cue formats. They are usually for CD's (not DVD's) that will be played in a home DVD player. It's an encoding process called KvCD.... anyway, read the attachment (open it with Internet Explorer)... Thank hopperdave for correct me about cd\dvd thing I was in hurry.As for K-lite ,I point this awesome codec pack cos I don't want to many players on my PC, just WMP11.

 

another option is to go to the store and buy the movie, instead of downloading torrent of ripped works...
