Hi everyone. I DLed several video files and am trying to burn them onto dvd for viewing on my TV. The vid files are in .avi format. I have Nero package along with DVD2one.v1.5.1 and tmpgenc2524. Is there an idiot proof way to convert my hig hquality video files into another file type that is burnable onto dvd(4.7gb)?? FYI, I also have installed onto my comp a Sony dual layer 8.5gb dvd/cd+, etc burner. Any help would be greatly appreciated

What formats does the DVD player connected to the T.V support?

    How large is/are the video/s?

PanasonicDVD-S35 player. Here is some info on it:

Along with its ability to play DVD-Video and Audio CD, the S35 can also play MP3 and WMA compressed audio files as well as display JPEG images (somewhat slow) on your TV, play burned CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-RAM (including DVD-RAM recorded on Panasonic DVD Video Recorders).

It also plays DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW and DVD RW discs. Make sure you use quality media – the player may start freezing if using low quality CD-R discs.

I successfully played Imation DVD-R discs as well as KHypermedia DVD+R (CMC) in addition to Sony, Maxell, Memorex and TDK CD-R as well as Acer CD-RW.

The VCD and XVCD playback are also available, and you can choose to see the bit rate on the screen while the VCD/XVCD is running, which allows you to determine if the XVCD is constant or variable bit rate.

There is even an SVCD playback. The speed changes and mode changes (e.g. FF-Play, Rew-Play, etc.) are slower than those in DVD-Video playback mode though.

THe files are: CD1 - 358mb in .avi format, CD2 around 372mb .avi format.
    Dimensions :656x480 Bitrate: 128kbps

You already have Nero, and it should be able to either create a video CD that will play in your or most DVD players or a "regular" DVD.

Use Nero StartSmart, set it in Advanced mode (bottom right, second icon), then under the Favourites icon (star), select Make Video CD, then simply drag n' drop the files.

To burn a DVD, just use the fourth icon in StartSmart "Photo and Video" and the last one down "Burn DVD-Video Files" and again drag n' drop.

It's up to you which one you want to create. Making a Video CD is the cheaper alternative, especially considering that if you burn a DVD with only the two AVI's above then most of the disc is wasted.

Nero would be my first choice and you already have it, however there are plenty of other burning programs you could use, including the excellent and unbelievably free CDBurner XP available from the download section here.
