Avi to Mpeg

i have an avi video file and im wanting to convert it over to mpeg but every where i look someone wants 20 to 40 bucks for one so what i'm asking is there a free one out there that i can download... or am i going to have to just buy one ..thank all

hey great site toke but maybe im going blind or something but i just dont see anything to do with avi to mpeg... if there is something maybe you could point it out or tell me right where to look... thanx

Firstly, isn't Doom9 a virus??

Secondly, downloaded converter great, but it stamps a logo in middle of screen unless you 'activate' product. Is there a totally free app out there somewhere??
