Avira Issues And External Devices.

For those that like Avira anti-virus there is some kinda odd issue going on with it.It took me about an hour to figure out why my 1 Tb External mass storage device was not showing up in My computer.

This is windows 7 64 bit Pro FYI.

It was showing up perfectly fine in Device manager.

Here is what i did to start things.

First i went into Device manager and looked to see if the computer was still detecting it.And it was detecting it just fine.I unplugged it a few time and plugged it back in.Nothing happened.

So i went another step

I looked further down the device manager list and went into the Universal serial Bus Controllers.

And this this is what i did next I looked for USB Mass storage device.This would be your External hard drive if you have one.So what i did than i uninstalled it and let it reinstall it a few times.And it still would no t show up in My computer.So than a Avira message thingy popped up.And that's what was blocking the device.Which i don't understand why this is.

I think it was Avira Firewall blocking it or the anti virus blocking it.I have know idea why Avira would block a mass storage device and not the few dozen flash drives i have.

This could all so happen with other anti virus and firewall programs as well.
