Avira Pop Ups/Notifications

Greetings,

I am looking for a permanent fix for the free Avira pop ups and bottom-right corner notifications which is safe.

I know about the method where you disable the program protection and then right click the files which cause the popups, go to security and check the deny boxes. These methods, however, say to re-enable the program protection in Avira, because it is dangerous to leave it off. But when I re-enable it, it automatically unchecks the deny boxes I altered so the pop-ups persist. Is it really dangerous to leave these disabled?

I've tried the method to quarantine the files in Avira itself, and it doesn't work either.

I have seen another method where you access gpedit.msc, but I cannot run gpedit.msc since it does not exist on my Windows 8.

Does anyone know a way I can safely disable these?

Hey Panthers89, I know you're asking for a solution, but, if Avira is doing it's job, maybe you can just ignore the pop ups. I use Avira o 1 computer and it is a very good AV, so I leave it alone. I don't mind it's bitty annoyance as long as it keeps me safe.

 

Well do you know if it is in fact a danger to leave the program protection features disabled?

So this is the same problem I've ran into, because I don't have Windows 8 Pro, just Windows 8 I cannot edit the security policies.

Does that mean there's no possible way to use this option other than buying Windows 8 Pro?
