    The devil has struck. Me

    Celron PII, M81DC-X motherboard

Tried to update the bios on the above chip. I did a successful upgrade a couple years ago. Not so lucky this time. Something went wrong and I now get what seems to be one long beep and two short beeps. Nothing on the screen. The board has a jumper to clear CMOS. I've tried that with no result. Anything I can do to restore operation? Would removing the Bios and flashing on another board or the next step, obtain a new bios?
    Is either even possible?

    Thanks

1 long and 2 short means: Monitor or Display Card Error.

I can't help you anymore, I haven't encountered that before.

Thanks. That's what I found through Google.

I discovered I didn't have a boot disc installed in A:. (still had the bios disc, shame) but the result is about the same. It seems like one long and two short beeps but it is trying to boot of the floppy disc. Then it hangs with now display at any point. Flashing the rom wouldn't fry the an board video would it?

Not a heavy loss. It's getting to be an old out of date board after all.

    But thanks anyway.
