Being that one of my best friends is in the Marines and served two duties in Iraq...I thought it was quite touching...but fortunately he has come home and working in Washington now!!!!

All of my high school buddies enrolled into the marines out of high school. I wanted to join the navy to work on computers but having addisons disease held me back. I'm kinda glad i didn't go but i still kinda wish i did. A few of my buddies just came home and one didn't. It definitely sucks. One of my buddies got shot in the leg but he's home now.

Lovely and touching tribute. One of many.

Not to take anything away from it or the others like it, but I wish there were more done on the Marines' (and the military's) triumphs as well as their tragedies. While their losses are worth memorializing, JUST focusing on the losses loses the point that they are a cofident, highly trained group, by far the best fighting units on the planet, who are there by their own wishes, doing what they signed up for, with pride and determination, handing out far more grief then they are taking, wherever they meet the enemy head on. They wouldn't want us to just focus on their deaths. That's not who they are. They're heroes, not victime, and proud of it.
