Back button on Internet not working

    It has been fine but yesterday the back button on my internet explorer is not working. I so annoying I use the button all the time now each time I have to start my search over again, andy ideas?

    I would look at repairing IE, or reverting back a version, then upgrading back to IE 8.

    goto Control Panel/Add Remove programs and make sure you have checked view installed updates. Find the one for IE and then highlight and uninstall.

    This will revert you back to IE 7, which is o.k., see if things are working. If they are, then upgrade back to IE 8.

    Hi thanks for the reply, I have looked in installed updates there is not one mention of an update for IE strange? Anything else I can do?

    I can not even see any version of IE in my programs so can not uninstall???

    IE can not be uninstalled; it is tied in too closely with windows.
    You failed to mention what version of Windows and what version of IE you are running.

    Since I updated IE from 6 to 7 (XP Home), I can "uninstall" IE7. It is listed under Windows Internet Explorer 7. It doesn't uninstall, it merely downgrades me to IE 6.
