Ok I followed your instructions and most of my problems have disappeared with a few exceptions.
I was asked to bring this BACK into this forum so I am.

The biggest being that my Norton Internet security is totally disabled. I e-mailed Symantecs and the said my version was old and best to upgrade - so I did!!
When it goes to install it says my windows installer must be updated 1st and then it connects to update. The update fails!! I cannot install Norton 2005 now!! I also cannot update in windows update and I also cannot update my service pack - many things are going wrong

I tried to delete Norton Internet security and it was so wierd - it kept saying I needed admin rights etc.. So I went under safe mode and that seem to do it. Then I went to delete Norton Anti-virus and instead it updated and is still on my machine, but certain aspects of it do not work anymore. Then I went back under normal mode and my internet seems to be back to normal - Can go into secure sites (banks) etc...

After that I went into windows update and it said I had 4 critical updates - one being sp4 and once again it did not work. I tried a disc that a friend gave me with udates on it and after retrieving, archiving and start of installation - it said an error occurred and failed.

Ok guys I went ahead and tried the links to delete Norton. There was still 4 files that would not delete. Now my Outlook ia acting very strange. I have it setup so when I exit all the mail in my deleted file gets deleted and this error keeps popping up : The procedure entry point StrTokEx could not be located in the dynamic link library MSOERT2.dll

Then when I try to send an e-mail the same message pops up and the this message pops up : An error occurred while attempting to open the windows address book. Unable to find WAB DLL.

My windows installer still doesn't work and I cannot update any critical downloads.

From all my experience with Norton, I would ask for your money back. This week was doing a dsl install, and Norton Internet Security would not let us out. Spent about 1hr messing with it. Just my opinion, I run into it all the time. Not trying to rip on you or norton in any way.

Also try to remove the files from the registry manually
