Back up Outlook/Outlook Express files

    I have a friend using Outlook (maybe OUtlook EXpress) in XP. How does he back up all the stuff in his Outlook folder. Am I correct in assuming they will be *.pst files somewhere.

    He wants to back up to an external CD-RW drive. What software would be best? Will XP do to copy these files. He is leaving soon( in 2 days), for West Africa and wants a backup in case his laptop gets damaged in transit.

    Would appreciate a rapid answer. He is 200 miles away so we are conversing via email at present, which complicates things further. Bazza

    Im not really sure because Ive only setup and backed up Outlook Express. Never backed up Outlook.

    There are many many programs for outlook and outlook express backup. Most of which cost. There are some that is freeware!:)

    This is the only one I've ever used is this one.

    Thanks once again. I have to find out whether he is using Outlook or Outlook Express. I think, initially, he will use a trial program as he wants to back it up once only, really soon. He may settle on a paid one, if necessary. later. Will log off now for about 8 hours, going to bed soon. Thanks for yhour help. Bazza
