    Hello
Until I get a new pc I back up my weekly data to either a flash drive or cd-rw. I do not have a dvd-rw.
I hope to get a new machine with an external hard drive and image to it with Acronis.
Right now, are both of these ok to back up to?
Also, can I write to a cd-rw using a dvd burner.
    Thank you

    Hi Peter

Yes both are ok, but will need alot of CDRWs and unless your flashdrive is enough to cover the size of the backup then you may need a larger one, so stick with the CDRWs for this. If the data is just files as in docs etc then so long as the flash drive is large enough then its ok, if its a full image of whole HDD then you'd likely need a 32GB flash drive (guess at your HDD size and backup but most are large)

As for DVD burner burning CDRW, then yes they are backwards compatible so you're fine.

Yes, my data fits on both flash and cd-rw. I also have the o.s. disk which I have had to use before.:cry
Glad to hear the discs are backwards compatible as I have quite a few. Can you believe I even have a floppy drive -time for an upgrade .
    Thank you for the advise.
