Got a new router. Linksys Model No. WRT54G. I'm not asking this for myself because my connection is better than ever. However, my sister's computer isn't connecting to the internet. My mom's laptop and my computer aren't having any problems, and I'm not entirely sure what is going on with hers. I believe she is connecting to the router (it says connected in networking connections) but the internet still isn't working. Her desktop card is a Blkin Wireless-G card. Any help is much appreciated.

try to ping the router, to see if you're connected to the router properly. Then check if there is anything wrong in the network settings, or internet explorer (proxy and stuff)

Start --> run --> cmd press enter
    type: ipconfig press enter
type: ping (default gateway as shown after ipconfig)

*eg. for me default gateway is 10.0.0.138

I'm having the same problem, with exactly the same equipment. "Wireless Network Connection" reads a strong signal strength, but says there is 'limited or no connectivity' because the network did not assign a network address. However, the "Repair" function cannot renew the IP address and "Network Connection Details" doesn't show a Default Gateway number.

Would also appreciate some help with this one.

doofus, make a new post for your problems, instead of tacking on others threads please.

I did consider that, but given that the equipment and essential problem appear to be identical, this seemed to be the logical place to post.

Seriously offtopic, but unless you have the same computers/router/network cards/number of pcs, make your own post.

It is very common to find that not all network cards will use the same channels. In other words, there is a fair chance for channel compatibility to be the problem here. You have 11 channels, try them all and see if your sister's machine will connect. Do it with no security protocols at first, which means, stay off the internet while doing this. Disconnect your WAN port, if you need to. Then, if you find one that works, set security, and test again. Then...see if the other machines agree with the channel and security settings.

Troubleshooting the router when other wireless clients connect...it can only be a channel or security problem.

Thanks for the help everyone! In the end, it proved to be as simple as uninstalling and reinstalling the belkin card.
