Im not sure if this is a hard or software issue but I cant get my computer to TRUST my phone?

I just want to back up my pics/apps, etc

    any advice?

Ive googled this and found this
How do I get my iPhone to always trust my computer?
    1. Connect your iPad/iPhone/iPod to your PC.
    2. Go to: Control Panel > Device Manager.
    3. Click on: Portable Devices.
    4. Right click on: Apple iPad/iPhone/iPod > Update Driver Software.
    5. Choose: Browse my computer for driver software.
    6. Go to: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.

but I dont have "portable devices", i run windows 7 home premiuum
    (64bit, SP1, amd fx-4130 quad core , 8 gb ran, AMD 760G)

when I go to devices/printers, it shows APPLE MOBLIE DEVICE USB DRIVER, and it is working properly
    but Itunes wont trust it?

    HELP!

I reset my network setting and I always hit TRUST on the phone and then the compute says

itunes could not connect to the iphone, because there was an invalid response from the device"

    1. Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer or other device.
    2. Enter your passcode, if you have one, to unlock your iOS device.
    3. If you don't want to trust the computer or other connected device, tap Don't Trust on your iOS device. If you want to trust the computer or other device, tap Trust.
    4. If you're connected to a computer, tap Continue in iTunes. If you're connected to a different device, answer any remaining questions.

    yeah I saw this elsewhere
phone is unlocked, I hit trust, wont' connect, ie show up in devices
I thought it might be a bad usb cord/port, but I've changed both those things and ensure they both work
    I hate itunes

I don't think you are alone.

I saw an iPad on sale but when I realized I'd need iTunes to connect to my computer, I walked away. Just one more reason I stay away from anything Apple.

I agree but consider this tidbit:
because I use apple, my phone and unlimited data plan are free*
    so I'm all about free
*cost of allowing my parents to call/find me whenever

I'll keep my $80 Samsung android phone with 5GB of data for $35/month. But there are no overage charges so if I use more than 5GB (I don't even come close) the data rate slows down but isn't cut off. Not having to deal with iTunes is worth it to me.

And I'll keep my LG smartphone with a small amount of free airtime, messages and data for $15 per month.
WhatsApp is free and uses about 100 MB data per month that costs me $2.
And I'm not forced by a dictator-type company that thinks it knows what's best for me. I decide...

    Bonus! :) :p :D
    I don't need iTunes.

I use the free MyPhoneExplorer and everything on my phone is on my PC.

Im def intrigued because I have held off using the iphone for a long time and used my trusty LG Rumor phone, just texting.
the iphone was free and is free, which is hard to beat and free family messaging, and "find friends" allows my parents(who pay for it and keeps them "happy")
I use gooogle voice for non-famly messaging, just easier.
I do hate the fact about the lack of drag/drop and mom takes loads of pictures and hates it also, which is why I got her a
SanDisk iXpand Flash Drive 128GB for iPhone and iPad, Black/Silver, (SDIX30C-128G-GN6NE)
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CIEBXZG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

which allows drag/drop and keeps photes in album or sorted, etc

what kinf of phone do you have?
model, etc?IM interested in perhaps getting it and seeing if i can wean my parents off apple products(but not stock)

    @Jerry78,
I have an LG Leon (LG-H340Y) with Android 5.0.1.
I won't recommend it because it's technically outdated. I'm due for an upgrade in June 2018.
In the mean time, it does everything I need. Any apps I need can be downloaded for free, and that's the beauty of Android.

The software program I have on my PC is the free MyPhoneExplorer which is an 8 MB download.

Everything on my phone is also on my PC.

    thanks
I checked out "my phone explorer"
-MyPhoneExplorer connects your phone via cable, Bluetooth (pairing) or infrared allowing you to efficiently transfer and manage specific aspects of your phone.

It provides you with a fast transfer of information including export and import of contacts, call logs, notes, alarms, and SMS. MyPhoneExplorer address book permits direct syncing to Outlook, Gmail, Windows contacts, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, Lotus Notes and Tobit David. You can also keep your calendar organized by easily syncing up with Outlook, Google, Sunbird, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, Windows calendar(Vista), Rainlendar, Lotus Notes, Tobit David and net shared calendars (WebDAV, FTP, local). You can also monitor phone temperature, voltage, consumption, charging voltage/current, signal quality, and firmware details right from your desktop.

MyPhoneExplorer additionally allows for Screen-Mirroring (phone to PC), as well as via Wi-Fi for phones with Android 5 (Lollipop) or newer and is compatible with Windows 10 and Outlook 2016."

The bolded stuff is too high tech for me/family, but what about pictures?
Id love to transfer pictures to my PC via blue tooth, or even a drag.drop cord, can your phone do that? (apple can't/wont)

also, I post a lot of pics on facebook/etc and when I do , I have to select picture in the "reply" button, then scan thru my 40K pictures to find the picture I want.
is that how your phoneworks, or can I organize them and go to an album before selecting a picture to post in a thread on facebook or even an albumn,
it is very hard to get pics OFF the iphone, without using itunes

(which I dont use, as per my other thread where I cant even connect to itunes... and Im still a few weeks away from getting a new battery, (which apple said they'd call me when it came in and I was WHAT THE MUCK? EMAIL/text me! I dont answer unknown calls)

    thanks

    Yes.
All the pictures and videos on my phone are on my PC.
I prefer to use a USB cable so that the phone charges at the same time.
All the pictures on my phone are in albums.
I have one album for all the 'funnies' for posting on Facebook or sending via WhatsApp.

Just like I don't need Google to search the internet, I don't need iTunes for anything.

you dont use google? what do you use?

I dont think my question was clear about uploading pics to facebook

how do you get the pics to facebook? BUT not to an album/ but to your own page for a status update(per se)

    go to your page-
when you hit "whats on your mind?"
then tap photos/videos... to add a pic...
    --now what?
do you have to scan thru all your pics to find the pic you want? or can you see albums you have (on your phone) that have your photos are in them and you can easily find the pic you want to upload?
    - on my iphone, I hit photos and then Im directed to my photo album, but I cant see any album. I just see pics
    _hopefully thats more clear

    Startpage or DuckDuckGo.
I go to Gallery and there I see albums. And I can create new albums and then move pictures (one or more at a time) to the individual albums. I cannot create albums inside albums - like on a computer.
    No.
I have the LG Leon 4G LTE H340 SmartPhone.

There's more to smartphones than Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy ranges.
LG, Sony, Motorola, HTC, etc. are catching up. Shop around. Look at the amount of Internal Memory, SD Card Capacity, RAM, Camera, Modem, Screen Size, and whatever is important to you. Speak to family, friends & colleagues - ask what they have and what they like or dislike. Decide how much you want to spend. Lastly, ensure the phone is not tied to one Service Provider.
I cannot recommend contracts or service providers as I'm in South Africa.

ok that above is why I hate posting pics on facebook, i get tired of searching thru all my pics to upload one pic to the thread/page, I'm on.
If I make my own album etc, I'll upload the picS directly to the album

I Sheeple dont buy apple, they buy non apple stuff, you know, the cheaper stufff that does more at a faster rate than apple

, iSheeple choose the Apple alternative every time, paying over the odds for a product that is not as useful as it should be (see: iPad).
