    The Story:
What happened was...... I couldn't get into the login screen and all that was displaying was the Windows logo for about 20 minutes. So after becoming frustrated with the wait, I chose to reboot and start with Last Known Good Configuration. The same thing happened again with just the Windows logo screen being displayed for a period of time. Upon rebooting, I chose to go into Safe Mode and try System Restore. So what do I find, no restore points(*add banging head on keyboard here*)! Then it suddenly dawned on me that I still had a DVD movie in the drive so I removed it and restarted, this time it started successfully!
Upon checking System Restore, there were still no restore points so I opened up my Undelete program and found that LastGood.tmp had also been deleted.

My question is.....how can I open up the systems information folder(system restore point) and LastGood.tmp and copy the contents to another location so they can't be deleted? I can't find these 2 folders even when I unhide the folders!

How and Where System Restore Points are saved:

Restore points are saved in under x:\system volume information\_restore{558C94FD-3C7F-4954-A02D-
26679E6D849E}. Each restore point's files are saved in a folder named RPXX where XX is a two digit number
    corresponding to the restore point.

See if you can find the "System Volume Information" Folder....that's where the restore points are.

If they are not there...they are GONE

    Hope this helps!
    :)

You never knew that I had read it and it might be worthwhile to someone else who hasn't come across that webpage! ;)

But I still can't find the Folders without using the Undelete program.
