I keep getting a bad image message, on everything. I click OK and it goes on with whatever I clicked on. This started on the 30th. I use windows XP home edition.

I did read another thread with this problem but they were using Vista and I wasn't sure if the fix mentioned would do for an XP user also.

Thanks for any help you might have, Nancy

If you could, please provide an image of the message being displayed. Also, on everything? Do you mean programs, images, music, video ect...? Have you attempted doing a system restore to before this issue began?

This is the link to what it says when I open paint. I can open IE without the warning message, but not Monzilla. Most seems to be non-windows applications, but not all (figuring paint is a windows application that is). No, I haven't done a system restore as of yet, saving that as a last resort.
    Thanks, Nancy

    g'day Wlfwo

ran a search on the dll file in the image and came up with no results. with this in mind i would suggest it may be malware related there for i would recommend that you visit the malware forum but first if you follow the guide found here " http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407 " and then post the suggested logs then the malware fighters will assist you from there.good luck and i hope this helps.

We did make sure we were updated and ran a scan on the computer, it's set to do so automatically, but just to make sure I did it manually, but that was next on my list of things to do since it's been a while since I have done it. Run the sticky I mean. I just needed to wait for a day off so I would have the time (and energy) to do it. Thanks, Nancy

your welcome it is best to let the malware people to at least have a look at your logs as even the best anvirus software can miss things and as like i said the dll file is not listed any where on the web that i can find and if this is malware it could be something new and hasn't been listed.this is something that is running on your computer that is an unknown. better to be safe than sorry i would say.
