I'm working on a friend of mine's laptop. It has 5 bad sectors (a brand new dell =O )
Anyway! I read somewhere that you can configure those to be ingored, since they are non-fixable. How could this be done?

If the laptop is brand new and it has bad sectors then it is likely that the hard drive is duff and it will probably fail soon.

I would therefore recommend returning the laptop.

If you decide not to, then nearly all modern hard drives will keep a sector table and ignore bad ones by themselves.
