Bad Uninstall; need regedit advice

While attempting to install an HP software patch, InstallShield kept opening and attempting to install an old "ReMixer" mp3 to wav program. Even after uninstalling it through "Add/Remove Programs" and searching for the install file, the problem repeated.

I finally found and printed the uninstall file using notepad, searched for the install files (which were hidden in .cab files) and manually deleted them.

Now, some InstallShield installs will work normally; others will fail when it asks for the disc that has the "ReMixer" files on it. In Event Viewer, I get error messages for Event IDs 34 and 35 in source/NSCS service. Since I'm running XP Home SP2, AUXSOURCE doesn't work as a source of telling me what to edit or nuke in the registry to make this problem go away.

Have also run Norton Cleanup and RegCure to try fixing/removing the bad registry entries; no luck.

How do I find/trace the offending lines in regedit.com so I can delete them? Any advice would be appreciated.

Disregard previous post. I downloaded Dial-A-Fix from a link on this site; it fixed the problem.

A freeware program succeeds in solving an issue that about $100 in purchased software couldn't. Is that cool or what?
