bad video card?

    my computer boots up then a few min later it shot off the monitor i wonder if it may be my video card
    please advice!

    just the monitor or does the whole computer shut off? can you test a different monitor on the computer? see if you can play a game before it shuts off; if you get any distortions/weird things, report back here

    i have two other monitor and no luck! and by the way it is the monitor that shuts off, the tower still runs

    plugout your GPU and see if will work with onboard graphic.

    something like this kept happening to me a while ago, i think its a sign that your vid card is overheating, do you have the proper power supply? , i didnt and after a while of it shutting off, it finally wouldnt start until they removed my video card cause it burned out,

    Remove the video card and reseat it. As TrainHeartnet mentioned, blow out the case and vide card for heat issues. Diagnosing hardware is always easier when you can replace the hardware to test. In other words, trying another video card, if possible, will answer your question.
