    can any one help me on this topic
    i have a 6 Pc's i m to going to take a 256 Kbps ADSL connection for all of them but is all the 6 pc's will provide me the same download speed like 256 Kbps or it will be shared

    Shared, the 256 is your wan (internet connection). Your not gonna get that speed at each pc unless its the only one being used.

    Think of your connection as a water pipe, 1" in diameter. Think of your router as a manifold with six 1" diameter valved outlets. 256K worth of water is the max that can come down the main pipe. If only one valve is open, it gets all 256K worth of water. If all six are open, each gets only 42.67K worth of water max.

    Chances are all six computers are not going to be requesting data from the net simultaneously, and therefore each has the possibility of experieincing 256K performance. But if more than one PC requests data from the net at the same time, they must share the 256K bandwidth, only receiving a portion of it.

    Or. think about the ISP giving you $256.

    Put it in small wallet, or big wallet or, in 5 wallets it still would be $256.
