Bargain Buddy

    Whenever I run Adware se it finds bargain buddy, I have gone through all of the steps in read this first, and it wont get rid of it, and as u know Chas, my HJT log is clean, I dunno what to do, or if there is anything to do.

    It's probably a registry entry. Give me exactly what Ad-Aware tells you.

    By the way your log was not clean last I looked. I had said you need to uninstall:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MessengerPlus2] "C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! 2\MsgPlus.exe"

    It is not endorsed by Microsoft and most websites just like MG's all recommend that it be uninstalled. It puts adware on your PC along with LOP.

    that log was from my downstairs computer, my computer's log is clean. but u are right about that chas. I just ran ad aware and it did not show anything, it only comes up sometimes, I think maybe after I restart my computer and run ad-ware, so I will do that now and get back to you. Thanks

    Hey Chas, and other geeks

    Finally that bargain buddy has shown up in my ad-aware scan. also, 180Solutions has shown up and Zango... It says they are Reg Keys or Reg Values except for Zango... which I have never heard of... but it is a file. This post is fairly old... and it did just show up again now... so I thought I would ask what I should do... I am going to leave my adaware at the scanning results page untill somebody tells me what to do... lol Thanks guys

    yes, I have the new file... It might fix the problem... I haven't tried yet... as for safe mode I can't get into it because I have a wireless keyboard and it doesn't activity in time for me to get into safe mode. But I just didn't finish the quarentine until I got a more professional opinion... and just in case u had any questions. Thanks chas

    If you cannot get into safe mode use msconfig to setup safe mode boot. You'll have to run it again later to get out of safe mode boot. See: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406?OpenDocument&src=sec_doc_nam

    cool... I ran it in safe mode, and it was clean... but like ai said before.. bargain buddy goes away for a little while... but then shows up again... those other 2 things I have never seen

    If still have a problems after trying that, you should read the tutorial in this Sticky thread NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

    Now post a HijackThis as a .txt file attachment to your message. All running programs should be closed, including your web browser, e-mail. Close before running Hijack This!

    Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file. Place it in its own folder, for example C:\Program Files\HJT

    Make sure yo have HijackThis Version 1.98.2
