[?] Basic Printer/File Sharing

I have a wireless network Im setting up and I was going throught the "Network Setup Wizard" (its windows as u can see) and it was suggested that I not use Printer and File sharing since all computers in this network connect directlly to the internet and is considered unsafe. My question is how can I setup a secure network which will allow for safe file/printer sharing. is is possible to use kerbos or some other key or certificate identification system to ensure only the computers in my network are used.

thx for the 411 cat5e - I have yet to put in effect the suggestions offered by the MS MVP site U meantioned becuase I have been doing addiontal research of my own and I have come to the conclusion that thoguth it may not be easy I require a more secure solution then the one presented by the site offered.

Like I said before I have been researching networking at many security sites and I have decieded that the wireless network here inorder to be secure must something like the following: VPN using OpenSSL and HMAC authentication but I have yet to find a beginers guide using google. If any experienced security and networking guru's could guide me in this project it would be of much help. NE1 with suggestions like your are going about this all wrong plz post and explain why. A side note I would like to incorprate ipsec but this is another huge task which once again I have no prior knowledge of.

 

The additional security that you mentioned are very good but they will slow the Wireless to a crawl or will make it None functional all together. However you might give it a try.

A wired WinXP can be configured as a VPN server, and the Wireless Client as a VPN Client.

I will check the links but first no computers in my network are wired all computers are Wireless-G. So should all computers found in my network be VPN Clients? And what about OpenSSL I have yet to find the link for the windows version at OpenSSL.org do U have a working link for the lastest build?
