Battelfield 2 - DVD Drive not recognizing disc

Hi,

Since I had this game (some weeks already), everytime I inserted the disc to the drive, I had to redo it several times because the drive didn't recognize the disc. Eventually it did recognize it, after 5-10 tries.
But yesterday it didn't No matter how many times I ejected and closed it, it like refused to admit the fact there is a disc inside.
And yes, it does recognize other discs. Only BF2 and SF expansion.
I tried updating my firmware.
I heard it's Nforce4 related, so I disabled IDE SW drivers as written here.
Nothing helps! Please, I even tried a no-cd patch, but punkbuster kicks me because I have missing / modified files. I was smart enough to backup the originals.
Is there a minimage or something?

Oh, and the Nforce4 remained drivers are Ethernet and PCI Management tool. Should I remove one of them?

1st Question: Is disk a copy?

 

If u ask if I burnt it, no. This is the disc I got the the store.

 

Didn't mean to offend but it wasn't specified and it was the first thing that needed to be ruled out. I've had that problem a few times but its always been with lower quality CD's. You stated this occoured with the disk from the start... so it may be flawed. If you still have the receipt try exchanging it (a return is next to impossible). You could also try to see if there are newer drivers for your DVD/RW.
