Battery For Compaq Laptop Evo-n150

I posted a thread regarding this issue last week as well. I have a Compaq Evo N150 laptop running W98 2nd Ed. The laptop runs from adaptor and battery, however the battery would not charge/hold a charge.

A new battery was purchased last week from CDW, who we have used in the past. To ensure the battery is the correct model - I compared it to the old battery and to a battery used in an identical Compaq Evo N150 used by another employee. The battery is the correct model.

I left the battery in the laptop for 1 entire day but it never charged, the indicator light on the laptop was flashing red as if it was maybe attempting to charge but no luck. I posted this issue on the message board and was advised to Cycle the new battery. - To allow the battery to calibrate.

To Calibrate I restarted the laptop, and Pressed F10 during startup to get into the Phoenix Bios Setup Utility. From the Security menu I selected to enable battery calibration and would then save the settings. However, During Calibration the Primary Battery type is unknown, and then I see an error:

Battery Malfunction (Cannot get Battery models)

So, I checked the properties of the battery from the laptop and the following is displayed:

Battery Name: HQL4
Unique ID SanyoHQL4
Chemistry: On-Line
Man: Sanyo

The problem is the battery is not a sanyo it is a compaq so I am sure it is not detecting the battery. What can I do to fix this? Any suggesstions? Thank you to luma13 & Brian C who gave me the information last week on calibration too!
