Battery Icon MIA

    I have a Dell 6400- the battery died after a year. got a new one, installed it about an hour ago but the battery icon is missing and also the little battery lights on the lower right hand corner are dark.

    The icon did show when i first fired up at 37%- i then plugged in and now the icon is, well... gone.

    what should i do to get it back???
