I have a Dell XPX M1330 laptop and it has Vista Home Premium 64 bit. I am custom installing Windows 7 pro 32 bit and the install disk says the BIOS has to be Flashed to version 1330-A11. I downloaded the BIOS but when I execute the file, I get this message: The battery must be charged above 10% before the BIOS can be flashed. Is there a workaround for this or do I have to replace the battery due it not charging?

Try removing the battery and just run on the power supply. ed

I removed the battery, but it says the AC adapter and battery must be plugged in before the system BIOS can be flashed. Thanks for trying to help.

I've been reading up on that model and there seems to be a battery charging problem. It may not be a bad battery but a bad charger. So you may want to diagnose that before replacing the battery.

Why are you doing the change in OS? If it is to try to solve battery charging problems it will not work because the problem is most likely in the way the charger is/(is not) recognized in BIOS.
