Battlefield Vietnam Help :(

Hi, I recently bought BF:V and have been having some problems.

First off, when I install it, it keeps asking me to insert the CD. Which I have tried. I looked up this error, found that I should get a No-CD crack, which I then did.

Second, after installing the No-CD crack (I have done this numerous times now, so I am 100% sure it was installed correctly) my game now just crashes, before it loads. Once I double click the icon, the screen goes black and says there was an error.

I have been trying this for over 3 hours now At first I thought my CD might of been bad, so I tried installing it onto my laptop. I got the same Insert CD error (a minor relief) however, when I installed the No-CD crack it worked. The game loads fine, leaving me to wonder why it will not work on my desktop. The OS is the same (XP Home on both). Here are the specs on the two machines:

Laptop - Hewlett Packard P4 2.4 Ghz 512 DDR
Desktop - Athlon 2000 XP - 512 DDR - Soyo Dragon KT 400 Motherboard

I have read up on some threads and it turns out that some motherboards you need to roll back the drivers on (most notably the nForce chipset mobos) however I have not seen anything listed about the Soyo, nor have I seen anyone else have problems with BF:V and their Soyo mobo. Coming onto a forum asking for help is now my last resort Thanks in advance.

 

Do you have custom mp3s being used? I found if you have too many, the game crashes back to the desktop on load.

No, BFV won't even load on my PC. I get a Windows error a moment after I double click the icon. Screen turns black, windows error, and that is that. But it works on my Laptop, which lets me know that the CDs work fine and such.. but my laptop cannot handle BFV, which makes me quite sad.

 

Heres what i did
Got a no cd crack
Then i updated to 1.01 which then crashed it
Then i reinstalled,updated and just played single player. Alot of bugs with thisgame
Or the internet i got kicked by PB for invaild OS privalges and all this other crap

 

Yeah, that edits the games executable (very uglily I might add)... no wonder it went belly up shortly afterwards
