Battlefield Vietnam

Anyone play? I read the reviews when it came out and it didn't sound very good, but I just got it, it plays and looks great (compared to original at least) and they'res tons of places to hide and hills and you can put your own music in. It's pretty sweet. So, anyone play?

I play, it's a good game. I like it quite a bit more than the original but now I'm excited for Battlefield 2.

 

Ohhh yea, B2 Looks so sweet, I hope they can come up with a better name tho.

 

I play it as well & I love it. Now with the new patch they have fixed the M60 issue & a couple other things. Overall great game.

 

Yeah Battlefield 2 is kinda lame, but still looks sweet.

 

I just purchased BF Vietnam yesterday. Going to ,hopefully,
install and play tonight. Has anyone seen any issues involved
with this version? What is the latest patch? Any tweaks for
better gameplay?

Going to try google as well, but would like to know what ya'll are experiencing.

 

The latest patch is v1.1 I never saw any real problems with the original except the m60 was extra strong. Not sure if they fixed that in 1.1 though.

 

Sweet, downloaded that patch. Wish I called in sick so I could
play it. Hehehe.

haven't played bf:v yet. i've heard its a glorified bf1942. i think i'll wait till i can play a demo, or dc or dcx ports over to it.

And yea in the original they had a class with an M60 AND the LAW gun, those are like the wicked weapons in the game, made em unstopable, luckily they fixed this in the patch, and yea it's still sorta buggy but it's plenty fun

 

no...I meant when DC or DCX makes a mod for bf:v

 

Oh, I dunno, technically the DC guys could mod the original BF to look like BFV, BFVs still pretty much just a mod.

ok...i've been away for a couple of weeks and haven't made it over to their crappy forums yet. dcx could still do it. they have to make their own models though, b/c right now they use dc's models. so if dc doesn't port over then dcx can't unless they have their own models. thanks for the heads up.

 

its more than just looks. bf:v uses a completely different physics engine. right now, dc uses helo's that are based on planes with engines located in certain areas to turn the "plane" into a helo. there are other additions that were added to bf:v that are not possible in the current bf1942 engine.

 

Desert Combat is my favorite mod by far. I never even played the original BF on-line because of DC

That's interesting, I never knew that. That's a good idea though now that I think about it.
