Bbq Mower

    Our luck........wife was mowing, got stuck in a hole.....grass caught on fire....mower melted......woods on fire. Happy saturday!!

    I hope your wife is ok and hopefully your home owners insurance will cover the mower ;)

    It was an exciting afternoon. Fire department.....had to use blowers because they couldn't get a water truck into the woods. Mower is a melted piece of metal. Doubt the homeowners will cover it. Deductible is too high for the value. A new mower is going to cost in the neighborhood of $2,000. Lady luck has abandoned us.

    Our mower blew up.....so we bought the new one. Had it two weeks. Still paying on it. Sigh.

    Then you should be covered by the warrantee. Movers don't just catch fire.
    Give the supplier hell. It could have been a very serious incident.

    Not only did we buy it used, but the grass fire overtook the mower and the tires started burning. It eventually consumed the entire machine.

    Seems to me your wife was very lucky indeed :)
    Here in Australia our consumer law states that when you purchase something (even if it doesn't have a warranty) the item has to be fit for its purpose and if it is not fit for its purpose then you are entitled to compensation. A mower shouldn't catch on fire nor should it cause a fire so this is a machine not fit for its purpose so would be replaced and any damage caused would be compensated by the seller. Of course some sellers fight this but unless they can prove something like gross negligence or inappropriate use of the equipment then they lose.
    Not sure if you have similar consumer law in the USA but it would be worth asking if you don't know ;)
    Good luck with the cleanup.... it looks like a real mess :(
