Bd drive issues

Hi all
I recently formated my computer in an attempt to fix an unrelated problem (unfortunatly to no avail) But now have have an issue with my BD player.

It a samsung SH-B083l (running on win 7 x64) but at the moment it only plays DVD's if i put a blu ray in the drive i just a message from the various piece of software I've tried to play the movie with (powerdvd8, vlc, and windvd pro 10) saying the disk format is not supported. :cry
I've ensured the correct drivers are installed and the firmware is up to date. any help would be marverlous
