   My computer beeps (coming from the tower) every time I open a program. Any thoughts why this would be happening? I am running Windows XP on a Dell desktop. Thanks

   is it a beep, or a clicking sound??
   
   look in sounds,
   scroll to 'open program' choice and remove the sound

   could be a stuck key on keyboard, or button on the mouse. try a new mouse and see if it still does it.
