Whenever I turn on my computer I get the message, BIOS ROM checksum error Detecting floppy drive A media... Drive A error. System halt...This is accompanied with a beeping sound.
I have to turn my computer off and on again to get into my computer...any ideas of how I can fix this?

Have you installed and new hardware just before this happened or did it just happen?

What motherboard do you have and how old is it?

    Are you Overclocking?

Were you by any chance Flashing the BIOS?

Have you had any bad weather, storms and power surges?

a few things to try while trying to narrow the possabilitys down a bit.........

Reset CMOS ... basically clear the bios to default settings, two ways of doing this are via a jumper on your motherboad ( you will need to read manual for where the clear cmos/bios jumper is located ) or just take the battery out for a minute or so.

On the same track as above your battery could be near the end of its life... maybe worth changing it.

If overclocking then restore the settings to normal.
