here's my situation

i have wireless beamed to my house
the signal is converted inside my house to ethernet
the signal is fed to a befsr41 linksys switch/router
from there to a usb port through a smc converter

my os is winme browser firefox
i have zone alarm installed

the zone alarm program keeps blocking access to my computer from 192.168.0.1
when i type that number into my browser a dialog pops up asking for my name and password

i am under the impression that this might be my router address but i don't know

can someone please restore my sanity by telling me what the heck is going on?

 

Most likely 192.168.0.1 is the IP address for the Router, which should be listed as Default Gateway, when you do a IPConfig in a command window. You need to list it as a Trusted IP in ZoneAlarm.

 

okay, first of all the router was installed by my isp
second, when it comes to this internet/networking stuff i'm not too bright

i checked the zone alarm program
there was no default gateway listed
like i said, my isp installed the router

but i did find this in zone alarm
asix as88172 based usb2-lan adapter
ip/site 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0
but this wasn't listed in zone alarm as ever asking access
every program that has asked for access is listed except the above

 

Big part of Local Network traffic is done through the OS, Not through specific programs.
