Belarc Advisor Question

Been using Belarc Advisor ver. 5.0 for quite some time , I see now there is an updated ver. 6.1f, was wondering if you need to uninstall the older ver. first or if you can install the new ver. over the old one ???????

 

Belarc's home page mentions nothing about uninstalling older versions. I can only assume that they (Belarc) would be smart enough to mention that a previous version uninstall was necessary if that were the case. They have been very user friendly in the past and I would guess that they continue to be so I would go ahead and install on top of the previous version.
*caveat: it should NOT hurt to uninstall an earlier version, unless directly suggested by the software company.
*as an aside : I initially used Belarc but found AIDA32 http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=181

Hi Joe I installed the new BelArc right over the old. Went fine, no gliches. I did set a restore point, just in case, before I installed the new one. But I do that before every installation anyhow. Call me a big 'fraidy cat, but it's saved my tail more than once.

I did uninstall the old one first - new ver. has more info - let me know that I was lacking in some MS Hotfixs - all set now - also installed AIDA32 - what a wealth of info there - Thanks for the help
