Belkin USB hub decides not to work

Hey guys and girls recently not to my knowledge my brother took out my belkin usb hub and then plugged his ipod into the same usb. No i thought this wouldnt affect the usb socket but now my pc doesnt recognise the hub. Please help!!!!

 

Does anyone think i should somehow un-install the drivers?

 

when you plug in the hub goto device manager and see if there is a yellow mark next to usb. if there is then you may need to reload the usb drivers.

 

Hi there isnt a yellow icon on any of the usb ones. I uninstalled the drivers then installed, restarted then plugged in at first it read it saying there was a new usb device, then it couldnt not be installed.

Then after that another usb device was found then that was fine. So i looked at devices now under USB controllers theres a Unknown device. But no yellow icon.

Hmmm odd....

EDIT - Just tried putting my camera in the hub to see if it would work, but not even the light would come on saying that the hub has recognised it...mmm

 

have you plugged it into any other usb port on your computer

 

Not yet i will do that now! Fingers crossed! :confused

I don't think they come with software most are plug and play. You may want to try to see if it works on another computer.
Also do the devices you plug into it work.

The devices im plugging in, like camera, mobile, usb storage devices do work.

 

ok then it is operational, my belkin hubs, never show up on my system, they are plug and play devices, the only thing that does show up is the extra drive letters. once i plug my device in i go from having a,c,d, to a,c,d,g,h,i,j,

 

It does work on another computer. I remember i had a problem and i had to do a system restore. It worked then but i kept getting a blue screen and so i came back to the most present checkpoint and it has been like this for 3 months.

 

Any thoughts?

 

This is one of my machines that have a belkin hub as you can see it does not say anywhere on it belkin however i get the letters that i can plug into. the most important part is your devices plugged into it work. there is no need for it to say belkin usb hub.

 

Ok is there any like registry programs which could clean and see if theres any un-attached drivers?

Cool yeah thanks man ive got this will run now and see if any effect. Something just popped into my head when i did a system restore the belkin hub was fine no probs but when i took it back to present day it wasnt. I thought with system restore it renames files, so maybye the belkin files have been renamed?
