belkin wireless n and thomson st516

Hi, I have a thomson speedtouch 516 v.6 modem that worked perfectly with my wireless g router in bridged mode. The router died so i figured i would upgrade. I purchased a Belkin N wireless router model # f58236-4 v3. I thought i could just plug it in and it would work. Wrong. I spent 2 hours on the phone with belkin and they said it must not work so I exchanged it for another. When i called back i got a different tech and he told me to set the modem back in regular mode (as opposed to bridged) and set the router as dynamic (instead of pppoe which was the G settings). This has worked to an extent but my NAT is always a 3. Even when I put my address in the DMZ. I have turned off the firewall on the router and on the modem (after manually opening the ports in both with no success) And still the same result. I was wondering if you could help me get by this as i am at wits end with it. Perhaps the 2 components are just incompatible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Well first, the router is F5D8236-4

I was looking for some images of the interface to see if it has upnp or a gaming mode. Either or both might put you into NAT 2. Now that I found the corrected model number, I'll look again if either of those options don't exist or solve the issue.

And yes, DMZ should bypass all of that and give you NAT 2 but the suggestions are because DMZ didn't work.

 

it says upnp enabled but doesnt seem to work. On my ps3 it also says enabled but when i do a connection test it says unavailable...I dont think there is a game mode on there.
