Anti-Vir personal is the only one. MG will certainly have it. This German mob update about once every two days.

Avast http://www.majorgeeks.com/download886.html It has daily updates, scans e-mail, P2P downloads, network connections and Outlook. Select the custom installation option to leave out any of the modules you don't need to save computer resources.

    Hi:

I think the best of the free ones is:
eTrust EZ Antivirus 2005 (free) http://www.microsoft.com/windows/partnerpack/default.aspx?prereq=true

Offered by Microsoft. I have since upgraded it to v7.0.1.4, the latest free (for 1 year) version. It is also my resident/background scanner for all things including e-mail. Running it as such has never been a problem for me.

You can count on scanners from eTrust to get the vermin others miss.

    Second would be AntiVir
    AntiVir (free) http://www.free-av.com/

    Happy trails,

In the case of Avast you get it for free for 14 months after registering. From memory all that is required after that in the case of the home version is to re-register. Leastways that is what I can remember about it

I hurd of alot of Avast and that is the one that I recomend for all the free user people, but i am a more Norton Chick. So far Norton System Works has worked for me and I haven't had any viruses since 2000. I keep my system pretty safe and up to date. So what do you guys think about Norton? or am I the only one who loves them.....

I've not installed Norton Virus in a long time...

I too, like to keep my system clean.

Avast free home edition is the best for me.I`ve had Mcafee,Norton--both are resource hogs and their bloated renewal fees caused me to try out some free antivirus programs.

I tried AVG free and AVAST----like AVAST much better----it is a more complete program than AVG.
I was very skeptical at first about FREE AV programs.Until you try the free ones, you just don`t know how good they are.
