Supposedly Netscape will block pop-up ads better than internet explorer, is anyone using Netscape? I have also found magical downloads like the google toolbar that supposedly block ads. I would rather not download something and risk a virus unless I know it works. Let me know if you have found something that works. I do not have a virus, but those ads can get out of hand and sometimes freeze the computer.

Which OS are you using as XP SP2 / IE6 does a good job for me in blocking popups or if you are thinking of a new browser then Firefox is the way to go.

hmmm, i'm actually using ie6 on my windows me computer, and the yahoo popup blocker. i think it works well, and i install it on all that i work on. i use it on my xp computers as well. i don't really like ie that much, but netscape (version 7.1) doesn't work well on alot of sites that i go to (even like bestbuy, or circuit city, etc.). and as far as the virus, i think your safe if you d/l from a legit site, etc.!! ;) - sos

    http://toolbar.yahoo.com/ <-- for ie

http://companion.mozdev.org/ <-- for netscape etc., this one i haven't tried yet though...
