    If that is a serious question, I'd be more inclined to look at the far more family-friendly fees from mom-and-pop computer shops that compete with them... have you seen the GeekSquad rates? Madness!

    Every time I walk in that store, I'm floored by what people pay.

    See what you should be making, Tim? LOL Take all those threads you all have in malware, multiply it by $199, and write it off as charity. hehe

    Hey, I'm the one that needs the charity!!! My God!!! Some of the Mom and Pop stores around here are charging around $40 for virus removal. I can't believe people would pay so much to the Geek squad. Get infected twice and you have bought a new computer!!! ( I have seen a few in the malware forum that still had traces of what Geek Squad left on their computers. )

    It was after seeing the page I linked to earlier that my mother-in-law bought me a generous Sephora gift card for cleaning a virus off her computer, upgrading her memory, saving data from a "dead" hard drive, reviving dead internet connection, and all the other stuff I've done as her personal tech support savior. She said she had no idea it would cost that much to pay someone to do it. LOL

    I told her to just keep paying me in home-made dinner and good wine from that friend of hers who has a winery, and we'll call it even. ;)
