Best Flash Boot [make bootable] utility?

I searched here and elsewhere and am perplexed that I am not finding any recent "make bootable" utilities for SD cards/Flash drives ???
Did I miss something?

I've done this before using the HP make-boot utility, but it won't execute under Windows 7. All I need to do is stick a usb flashdrive in my usb 2.0 port, and make it bootable... "Flashboot" seems poorly implemented - it crashes when executed in Windows 7 though the creator says its compatible. makes me nervous. I checked the downloads here on MG but don't see just a plain "make it bootable" utility.

Can someone give me the secret clue pls?

EDIT: got it , tried it, apparently the little program will screen iso's, and is only looking for win7? i tried two different iso files [linux distros] and it barfed... said "not valid"

reading the page its saying this will make a win7 install stick, basically. what I need is 'generic'... reusable. I need it to just boot, and I'll use it for various iso's... make sense?
will the same tool do that?

i just read an article that basically said diskpart can do the job, just assign a letter, format to fat32, and you're done. [in fact it was accredited to a microsoft guy...] . it doesn't work. I didn't think it would but had to give it a try anyway.

 

If you are looking to boot a linux distro, you can use Unetbootin. Or for booting multiple iso's try Yumi.

 

Another one you might want to investigate is Sardu.

Try flashboot in comaptibilty mode or XP mode (depending on your OS)
