Best free utility software...

Ok folks, I know there was once a thread concerning this topic but I can't find it for the life of me. So, let's revive this once again. How about we compile a listing of what our "experts" here feel are the best freeware/donationware/careware/whateverware programs are. I'll contribute my part after I get home from work today. TIA! Oh and btw, in case you are wondering why, I just had to reinstall my system and lost a bunch of good freeware programs I had gotten from recommendations here. It would just be easier to have a listing of the programs and what they do in one topic. Thanks again, cya later all!

Ad-Aware SE
SpyBot Search & Destroy
SpyWareBlaster
AVG Antivirus
Zone Alarm Firewall
Mozilla FireFox

These six will make your computer virtualy invulnerable to virus, spyware, and attacks. The best part about these is that they are all FREE!!!!

Everyone on the internet should be made aware of these.

 

If you have lost some of your programs, check for them at oldversion.com

Not actually software, but the best utility on the internet for checking email headers, and URLs...

BTW, there are claims that "Personal Firewalls" are a joke. Only a true firewall that sits between your PC and the net is really useful... many DSL modems have them...
