Best inexpensive software for hd video capture

    I am looking for some easy to use inexpensive video capture software to capture video from my HDV camcorder. I don't need much in the way of editing, but need to be able to save in MPEG 4 or similar to stream to my playstation 3.

    How do you transfer video from camera to computer? An interface on your video card? Removable media?

    If it's the former, do you not have any bundled software that came with the video card? I'm inclined to believe that will be an inexpensive way (already paid for) to get you up and running quickly.
