Best of System Optimizing Software

    What hotmale said. We try and reply in threads, email replies helps one person rather then hundreds, not to mention the spam that you will get by posting your email publicly :) Let us know what your trying to accomplish.

    Typically that means it was an incomplete download. Try to download it again, maybe a different server too.

    Cleanup! http://www.stevengould.org/ Freeware 3.1
    EmpTemp http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=1575
    and CrapCleaner v1.10 http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4191.html

    All 3 get rid of the accumulated crap, cookies, etc., you get from a session on the net.

    All 3 are free, don't conflict with each other, and each finds stuff that the other 2 misses.

    Run them in any sequence. I run CC, then Cleanup!, then EmpTemp every day. Bazza

    The flame smarta*se answer:p is "to download them and try them" but not being a smarta*se, the answers are as follows.:) Cleanup! (make sure you get the Cleanup! http://www.stevengould.org/ Freeware 3.1 version, finds crap that CrapCleaner doesn't. Cookies, temp files, etc that are somehow missed by CC.

    EmpTemp mainly finds some additional/occasional temporary (tmp) files that both others miss, as well as finding and removing broken shortcuts.

    As I have said many times in MG, use all 3 and I run them all daily:) :D
    I would be interested in your findings when/if you try all 3. Bazza

    Tks for advice on disk cleaners - CleanUP! found about 4mb that CC missed. Also enjoyed the built-in sound effect. EmpTemp did not find anything yet but will keep using just in case - like to keep clean!

    CrapCleaner and Cleanup! spoil you. :) They do most of the stuff for you. EmpTemp you gotta run yourself.:D Work your way through the tabs and run your mouse over the various icons to get the gist of what the program does. Post back here if you want further advice. Love the toilet flushing sound too. Getting rid of all the crap :D (apologies to CrapCleaner). Run all 3. Baz

    Bigbazza,

    Appreciate all the help. I did go back to EmpTemp & run through the tabs. Guess what - found three broken shortcuts which I deleted. Love that clean, fresh shower feeling. I just wish it was this easy keeping my house clean.
