best program and how to burn dvd's

Hi
I would like to know what the best program is for converting and burning downloaded movies from bitlord etc, to dvd for watching on a normal dvd player.
What format does it need to be?
Also how can I get a larger movie (5.8G) onto just one 4.7G disc.
I have spent days on this and I have gotten no were fast.

hi to convert Div X to DVD you need something like Cucusoft Div x _ DVD converter. this will convert divx xvid avi files etc to dvd, mpeg 1 mpeg2 etc.
To reduce size of dvd files you need dvd shrink (freeware) program. However if DVD is protected you will require DVD Decrypter as well to remove protection before using DVD shrink. DVD decrypter is also Freeware. Cucusoft is not freeware although there are some freeware programs out there that will do the same thing just a lot slower. Easiest way to find these progs is google them ie- freeware divx to dvd convert, dvd decrypter etc. Will give you a number of links to download from.
