There are a lot of really clever and funny stand up comedians out there.

My favourite was Billy Connolly. He brought the word "JOBBY" to the worlds attention!

 

I tend to agree Grumbles but I also like Jack Dee, he appeals to my cynical side.

Lee Evans is another classic comedian i like

 

My favorite's Denis Leary. I'm pretty sure that none of his material, except for maybe a total of 8 seconds, would be appropriate to link here.

George Carlin is the best followed very closely by Richard Pryor.

Steven Wright and Denis Leary are my picks for now.

And for all you Canuks The kids in the hall was probably the best around here with S.C.T.V. right up there.

My favorite comedian. A champion character, and married to an Aussie.

Wasn't Tater Tot his younger brother? Very funny.
I actually fell of the lounge laughing during "the blue collar comedy tour" with him and the cable guy and a couple of other funny buggers. Rednecks.

Russell Peters is a dead set crack up. An indian comedian.
His asian accent is killer. Be sure to look at the "Beating your kids" and the "Asians doing business with indian people"

Actually, "Tater Tot" was the nickname of his son, since his own was "Tater Salad." And yeah, "The Blue Collar Comedy Tour" is very funny, with as you mentioned, Larry The Cable Guy and Ron White, and the other two "funny buggers" are Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall. As a redneck myself, I have to know these things, since it's a genetic code thing or something.

 

One of my favourites is Peter Kay amazingly his routines are All PG,its hard to recommend him though because he takes the pee out of British life I doubt you guys would get the jokes,only lives 15 mins down the road from me

 

Even though I'm a Yank, I love a lot of British humor, from the classic Monty Python (pretty much everything they ever did) to stuff by Eddie Izzard and Ardal O'Hanlon (And not just from the show "My Hero;" I love his stand-up stuff-He's hilarious). Don't know if it'd help me get any of Peter Kay's jokes, but it could be a start.
