Best TV card to use for this settings?

My specs are on my signature.

Basically I want to play my gamecube/ps2/consoles on my computer (which I can use to record and edit [music videos, etc] plus watch tv too).

What is the best tv card that's reliable and have good quality (in terms of displaying and recording)?

The reason why I asked this is because my friend has an ATI Tv card (all in one I believe, sorry, I'll ask him when I see him again for better details).. but the problem is that EVERY action I input on my controller.. the effects takes place 1 second after on the computer monitor.

So recording crucial timing stuff (like combos or more) is a pain because of the 1 second delay from inputting to the screen (although when you record, it's synched).

Thus the only solution at my friend's house was to use a video splitter to hook the 2nd splitter to the TV so it was do-able.

I dont understand or know why there's a 1 second delay.. thus I'm hoping you all can give input on what should be considered and recommendations on which card I should get.

    thank you.

it takes time for your computer to process the information from the tv card into your video card, which explains the huge one second delay. You might want to try out the Leadtek tv2000xp deluxe (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-122-132&depa=0). it's a cheap solution with relatively low latency (much lower than one second). I think it's doable for console play, but i'm not sure since i've never tried it before on mine.

as for quality, i like it a lot and it's very good for the price. the only grip is that the coax cable connector on it is a bit flaky, but nothing a bit of solder can't fix.

I noticed this card have been out for a while now.... will it be down-played by other newer tv cards or is it good enough to last for a long time?

Obviously I dont have much knowledge or experience in them. But in my own understanding... all it is... is a TV card. All it's going to be used for is watching tv/vcr/dvd/cable and playing console games (by hooking it up to the tv card) on your computer.

It's not like a computer which will be inferior in 2+ years (compared to the newer cpu/motherboards, etc).

except for digital broadcasting or possibly surround sound, i don't foresee anything that can replace it.

thanks, guess I'll buy it and check it out. $44 isn't much compared to ATI's $60+ and higher (plus I was told ATI uses it's own programs thus you can't use 3rd party programs for the tuner... which is pretty sucky).

I have a few Leadtek vidoe cards .. and they work great.. so I'm not too worried about it being "trash".

i'm going to have to strongly disagree. maybe you could elaborate on WHY this is your opinion?

I use the Leadtek TV2000XP Deluxe and do exactly what MasterLL wants do do on it, and it works beautifully. it is the best card under $150 out there IMO.

in addition, Leadtek seems to make quality video cards as well. I have not run into or heard of many problems with them, and they are a reputable company.
