I need to record my BIOS settings. In the past for an older computer I have gone into the BIOS and written down everything with pen and paper so I'd have it for future reference should I need it.

Can anyone recommend a utility to record all the BIOS settings on my computer? I wondered if PCWizard, Everest Home or Speccy might work?

I would like to save the settings in a Word file or something easily readable that I can copy and save on more than one computer. That way if one computer quits working, I'll have its BIOS info on one of my other computers.

    Thanks!

You might take a look at this CMOS viewer (apologies to MG if it's listed - I couldn't find it here).

I've read that the Print Screen key might work while in BIOS if you're tied to a printer, but I've never tried it.

Poke around in the 'save and exit' menu in the Bios, some have a export function depending on your motherboard. Mine let me put it on a usb drive. Some may, some may not.

But, you need to boot to Dos. So, the only solution to save and restore is to boot to a Dos floppy or to be able to boot to Dos with a USB key.

Note: Major Geeks shows an older version and lists it as shareware. It is now freeware for personal use.

You can't run a windows program (Everest, Speecy) because the BIOS does not depend on windows.
As far as I know, there are two ways: write everything down or take pictures of the screen with a digital camera or phone.

Most folks never bother with BIOS settings unless they remove some defaults like the ASUS 'Express Gate':puke or eVGA's Marvell. If one OC's then one will already have a list of voltages, multipliers etc. to refer to as one ramps up the speed. I don't get it.:confused Unless the OP takes care of many rigs all with their own settings but still...
